We inspire people to shift towards a plant-centered diet to improve their health, to encourage compassion for animals, and to achieve a sustainable environment.
We visit local restaurants for our vegan "Dining Out" events. We bring in speakers, medical doctors and animal advocates, for inspiring health related talks.
We are located in Brevard County, Florida.

Healthy Planet dinner July 16th
Hello Healthy Planeteers :)

Let's spread the word about how wonderful and delicious eating a vegan meal can be.  Invite your friends and neighbors, especially if they live in North Brevard.    Remember, ANYONE, can eat a vegan meal once in a while.  The carnivores will let them back in :) and every time they have a vegan meal is one more time they see how much better it feels and what fun we are:)

Hope you all had a wonderful Fourth of July.  We have just returned from our trip to England where we had a delightful time with Rich's family and enjoyed exploring the Berkshire country side. While we were there we were living examples of the benefits of vegan living and the family took a great interest in what we do.  We taught Rich's sister and niece about pro-biotics,( Allison and her family were also visiting from Holland and when they arrived she had a "cold") and how to sprout. We ate lots of lentil sprouts, in salads and as breakfast with fruits, they are so versatile:), and they were intrigued by that so we shared and they loved them.  There was one day that Rich's sister Sara and her husband spent the day with us on a outing and Sara had a day without dairy.  The next morning she recognized that she was not congested the way she usually is in the morning, Amazing:)  The results of eating well are immediate:)  Sara and Allison were both using soy yogurt and soy milk when we left. Did they stop eating meat?  Not yet, but every little change we make has an enormous effect on the world:) Today soy milk, tomorrow tofu ;)

I hope the Independence from meat picnic was a huge success.  We were sorry to miss it.  We were delighted to see how vegan friendly the English are.  In preparation for the trip we did a lot of dehydrating and we packed in a lot of food so we'd be sure to have what we needed.  Now that we've been we will be much more relaxed in the future.  Finding organic veggies and vegan options was easy.  Waitrose is the English equivalent of our Publix and they have a huge selection of Organic produce, as well as packaged organic products.  We also found an organic co-op not far from where we stayed that sells produce and packaged foods. There are a couple of organic farms and some farmer's markets as well, we didn't have time to do it all this trip... Most of the restaurants, we looked at the menus everywhere even though we ate home most of the time, have vegan or vegetarian selections clearly marked on the menu and lots of them had gluten-free options as well.  This happened in England because there was a demand for it.  It can happen here too:)
Part of what we do is educate the community about the vegan lifestyle. The dining out events are more than just an opportunity for us to gather and enjoy a meal together, it's an opportunity for us to show the restaurant owners that there is a great demand for vegan menu's.

This month the Healthy Planet of Brevard Dining Out will be hosted by Nature's Market in Melbourne (map/directions here: http://goo.gl/BXNMk) on July 16th @ 5:30pm.  Leigh Hendry has provided us a beautiful buffet menu :)  Please invite all your friends, neighbors, and co-workers.  Let's spread the word about how wonderful and delicious eating a vegan meal can be.   Part of what we do is educate the community about the vegan lifestyle.
